Century House sign

Century House sign

Does your house turn 100 this year? Why not get an Irvington Century House sign to display in your yard! To get your sign, email historicpreservation@irvingtonpdx.com.

Not sure when your house was built? It's easy to plug in your address and check online at portlandmaps.com

If your house turned 100 before the Century House Program began in 2010, that's OK. Contact us for a sign anyway. If you only just learned about the Program or you just moved in, and your house is older than 100, we don't want you to miss out on a chance to celebrate local history. Contact us about a sign.

The ICA's Mary and Smith Piper Century House Program:

  • helps raise awareness for neighborhood architectural history
  • is a tribute to Mary and Smith Piper - honoring the Pipers' tireless efforts to create the Irvington Historic District as well as their many years of service to the Irvington Community
  • shows support for the preservation principle that the "greenest" building is the one that is already built
  • gives you a great excuse to hold a centennial birthday party

Getting Your Sign

The Mary and Smith Piper Century House program is not a fundraiser; the signs are free. If you would like to make a donation to help support the program, please write "Century House" in the memo and send contributions to:

Irvington Community Association
P.O. Box 12102
Portland, Oregon 97212

Returning Your Sign

Feel free to display the Century House sign for as long as you would like. When you are finished using the sign, the Historic Preservation Committee will be happy to collect and reuse your sign.  Just send us an email at historicpreservation@irvingtonpdx.com

Thanks so much for helping celebrate our neighborhood's architectural history.
